If all these talks about newfangled gadgets are getting you tied up with numbers, then high end mobile phone may not be the device you are looking for. Last year, Samsung brought out the Genio series of mobile phones to the younger market of mobile phone users. Using trendy features, lively colors and fresh new designs, the series was a very successful line of mobile phones (outside the UK, the series was known as the Corby).

Now Samsung is broadening its market range even wider with the new Shark series. This series of mobile phones target the general market of mobile phone users who only casually need high end features, but would still want a reliable device for sending and receiving call and messages. Among these devices is the new Samsung S5350 Shark.

Basic Details

With the device still not officially launched, existing spec details on the device are pretty scarce. It has already been revealed by Samsung however, that despite this phone's simple appearance, it will come packed with features normally found in smart phones. Among the most interesting of the features are the new Community 1.0 application and the "Remember Memories".

Details on these two functions have yet to be given, but it has already been confirmed that Communities will be some for social networking tool -hopefully, it will connect with accounts on existing networks as well. Speaking of contacts, users will easily get in touch with friends thanks to the instant messaging software on the phone. The device will also come with a newly designed user interface made specifically for the Shark series.

Visual Specifics

Despite being a low end budget device, this 3G candy bar phone has a lot to offer in terms of visual specs. The screen is a modest 2.2 inch TFT display that will deliver good quality images onscreen. It can only display 256 thousand colors; this is not as extensive as phones with 16 million colors, so do not expect to achieve the same richness of color that you would get on other smart phones. The resolution is 240 x 320 pixels which give a modest amount of horizontal lines for reading messages.

The built in camera on this phone is a nice 3.2 mega pixel snapper. It comes with autofocus capabilities and even smile detection, but take note that LED flash is not present. You can also take videos with the camera in QVGA quality at 15 frames per second.

Phone Extras

One of the better functions that a mobile phone will serve aside from getting you in touch is in getting you entertained. Since phones are carried around all the time, having your music and videos on the device is very convenient. The Samsung S5350 Shark supports MP3, WAV, eAAC+, and WMA music file formats. You can also watch MP4, H.263, H.264, and WMV video files as well. The 900 mAh will keep the device running for a whole day of music playback, though you might want to pack an extra battery if you will not have access to a charger for days.
