The Samsung Genio Slide is the 3rd model from the successful new Samsung Genio range and joins the previous Touch and Qwerty editions in offering removable back covers called fashion jackets of which there are 3 included in the Samsung Genio Slide's packaging.

This advanced new touch and slide Samsung phone incorporates the same touch screen technology and user interface found in the original Samsung Genio Touch edition alongside a fantastic slide out Qwerty keyboard for quick text entry when writing emails, composing text messages or updated your social network status.
The Genio Slide was originally released as a Pay As You Go phone, this meant that even those who cannot get past the network credit checks could get their hands on this amazing new device, now however the Genio Slide is available as a contract phone which means it is available from free with no upfront purchasing price to pay.
This latest phone from Samsung's Genio range is the most advanced model yet, it offers Wi-Fi, a 3.2 mega pixel camera with smile detection and auto focus and unique TouchWiz user interface only available in in the Genio range of handsets.
Other features include a large 3 inch touch screen, a full Qwerty slide out keyboard, music and video player and 3G access to the internet anywhere.
The Samsung Genio Slide does have some competition in its price bracket, even from within its own ranks from the Samsung B3410, other manufacturers have also been releasing new touch and slide phones recently including the LG GW620 which is slightly more advanced than the Genio Slide alongside the GW520 which is a closer competitor.
Nokia have also released a recent sliding Qwerty keyboard phone called the Nokia 6760 which is aimed at a similar youth market whilst Sony Ericsson have not gone down this route for sometime as we wait for the release of the next Xperia phone - the Sony Ericsson Xperia X2.
The Genio Slide is a Vodafone exclusive mobile phone for the first month if its release, after this limited time period has elapsed you'll be able to connect this new handset to other network operators tariffs with predicted launches on Orange and O2 already being rumoured.
Although this latest Samsung phone does offer a higher specification list to the previous models in the range it is still primarily aimed at the youth market with its interchangeable back covers and rather quirky rendition of the Samsung TouchWiz UI.
