Samsung F210 is a new music centric mobile phone which comes in a rather unusual, rotating form factor. It has a rotational design which has been rare except in some of Sony Ericsson branded phone. If it was all about looks, I would have given Samsung full marks. They have pulled up a great device out of their hat. The design of the Samsung sure is a head turner. But looks are all that matter in a cell phone. Let us have a look at the other aspects of this phone.

To begin with the build quality of the phone is superb. Now, this is not a price range where anyone would make any compromises with the build quality but nonetheless, Samsung has made a phone with a great build quality. The front of this phone looks like a music player what with a big round five way button and a screen with a wider than usual aspect ratio. When the music player is on, the phone can easily pass for a personal media player.

Now this one here is a triband GSM device. You can move between GSM 900, GSM 1800 and GSM 1900 networks. Network switching is seamless and you would not even know that the phone changed the network type. On the flip side, there is no 3G in this device yet. For messaging, you get SMS. EMS and MMS on this phone. There is no email but then this is a music centric phone and absence of email is not something that would be an issue to the market, this device focuses on.

Let us come to the music capabilities of this device. The device supports four main audio codecs. You get support for MP3, AAC, eAAC+ & WMA. You have the options for loading music purchased from eMusic store or the iTunes Plus tracks purchased from the iTunes Store. Music playback on this phone is superb. The sound is loud crisp and clear. You can enjoy your tunes even in high noise surroundings.
