Samsung G800 is a 3.5G handset released by Samsung in October 2007. The company calls it a digi cam with phone functionality rather than a cam-phone. The so called digi cam comes in slider form with the whole body made of shiny metal which looks very beautiful.

The display resolution is QVGA with a screen size of 2.4 inches. The device features 64 chord polyphonic tones and the phone book comes with a massive 1000 entries which is plenty for the average user, but less compared to other phones which offer practically unlimited entries. The phone has 160MB on board memory and is further expandable by using a microSD card up to 4GB.
The phone's distinguishing feature is its 5 megapixel camera which takes pictures with the maximum resolution of 2560x1920 pixels. The unique thing about the camera is that it has optical zoom as compared to only digital zoom, which is commonplace in other phones. The phone also has a xenon flash which is very effective compared to normal LED flashes used by Nokia phones. There are also 3 led lights for illuminating whilst video shooting is brilliantly done in VGA resolution at 30fps.
The various settings available inside the camera is pretty much as standard. Features such as exposure control, white balance, and auto focus make taking pictures a pleasure rather than a hindrance.
One problem is that the camera forgets all the settings the moment you exit the application and has to be set again with the next shoot. The phone has two camera lenses both of which can be used for shooting. The front camera has a VGA resolution, whilst the second is SVGA.
The media player is very versatile as it is capable of playing mp3, aac and wma formats. The video player plays mpeg4 and 3gp files. However don't expect much from the media player of this device, it is fairly standard and not the main selling point of this mobile phone. The phone is fairly responsive and is worth a buy if you still haven't bought any of those 5 megapixel beauties until now.
